ABOUT

In 1996, Mark Hachem opened his first contemporary art gallery in Paris. Eleven years later, Hachem inaugurated his Madison Avenue location in New York.

Hachem’s third gallery opened downtown Beirut in 2010. Today, the spotlight is on Hachem’s fourth gallery, located in the bustling Marais district of Paris.

Since the successful opening of the Beirut gallery, Mark Hachem’s engagement with the artistic currents of the Middle Eastern and Asian market has increased and flourished. Rounding his gallery empire, Hachem’s newest Marais location highlights the work of prestiged artists of the Op Art movement, such as Victor Vasarely, Jesus- Rafael Soto, Dario Perez-Flores and Carlos Cruz Diez.

Over the past two decades, the gallery has exposed prestigious artists, initially distinguishing itself from other Parisian galleries for its interest in Kinetic art.

The gallery takes part in prestigious contemporary art fairs around the world, such as: Beijing, Chicago, London, Paris, Maastricht, New York, Miami, Palm Beach, Shanghai, Moscow, Dubai, Singapore, New Delhi and Istanbul. With more than 200 exhibitions to his credit, Mark Hachem Gallery has acquired a robust international reputation for its dynamism and professionalism.

An ardent defender of contemporary art, Mark Hachem is also an adviser to public institutions and private collectors.

  • Yves HAYAT

Biography : Yves Hayat was born in Egypt. There, most likely, were born his first aesthetic sensibility, his first needs for compliance, his first denials. In 1956, he discovered France and uprooting. During five years, he attended the National School of Arts in Nice. In 1973, Yves Hayat chooses advertising - a creative trade in full effervescence. He will later retain from this creative profession his fascination for images and the importance of their message. Those years enabled him to discover new technologies and to master his technics. In 1990, Hayat returns to art and rediscovers the old masters. While working as an advertising designer he photographs people, the streets, museum paintings and recuperates magazine and web images which are carefully classified. Hayat is a perfect example of his time: an open mind on society, its streets, its media, its internet.
