  • Ivan Black  (+)

Biography : Ivan Black is an award winning British sculptor, born in London in 1972. He began making sculptures at an early age, motion quickly becoming central to his work; adding another dimension of complexity and interest to his experiments. He spent his early working life acquiring multidisciplinary skills in the pursuit of the means to realise his ideas. Ivan’s sculptures use his own unique methodology to create forms that mutate upon the introduction of energy. The repetition of identical elements is a recurrent theme in his work, by this means he builds complex fluid structures. Each piece is a section of a potentially continuous sequence, generated by the application of systematic rules to his geometry. Ivan takes inspiration for his designs from iconic natural geometry, combining mathematical concepts and the pioneering spirit of British engineering to create a synergy between Science, Art and Technology. His meticulously engineered and seamlessly integrated mechanisms are central to the behaviour and appeal of his work. Tending towards the minimalist in design, the movement is allowed to take centre stage.

  • Nicole Furman  (+)

Biography : Nicole Furman is a multimedia artist, body painter and photographer from Bogotá, Colombia. Having studied a range of art practices from body painting and performance to art history and photography, her series are provocative explorations of roles and identities. Drawing from characters and figures from institutions like Disney (the epitome of supposed pure innocence and childhood) and masterpieces of Western art history, her works craft recognizable visuals into intriguing tableaus that are at turns amusing and disturbing, playing with the constant of “destruction – construction – reconstruction” in her content. Using the nude body as her canvas and photography as her final medium, Furman provokes reactions from viewers and challenges societal preconceptions with a bold use of color, unexpected poses, and familiar images. “I seek to challenge a lot of societal preconceptions and ruling institutions (from the supposed intrinsic sexuality of a naked body, to gender preconceptions, ideals of beauty, and problematics with looking at the detail versus the whole picture) by employing common ‘symbols’ and references in my works in an unexpected environment or framework, all in an attempt to ‘speak’ to as universal public as possible through my images” – Nicole Furman.

Detailed Description : Furman’s work have been displayed internationally in art fairs and galleries; among her shows include exhibitions at TOAF (The Other Art Fair – London, United Kingdom), Feria de Arte Odeon (Bogotá, Colombia), Preview Berlin Art Fair (Berlin, Germany), Spectrum Miami (Miami, FL, USA), ArtLima (Lima, Peru), Galeria La Cometa (Bogotá, Colombia), Art+ Shanghai Gallery (Shanghai, China), Salón de Arte Grau (Bogotá, Colombia), Salón Nacional de Arte (Anapoima, Colombia), Participating Artist: Fundación Corazón Verde 2015 ‘Elevarte Icon’ (Bogotá, Colombia). She is currently represented by Galeria La Cometa (Bogotá, Colombia) and Art+ Shanghai Gallery (Shanghai, China) and was named as one of the year’s emerging artist in Art Business News Magazine - summer 2014.

  • Joel Moens

Biography : The background is made up of thousands of photographic fragments of feminine curves. In the foreground stands an image that radiates intensity, a symbol of intimacy, a face. The photo mosaics of Joël Moens de Hase first began to emerge in 2011. They rapidly caught the interest of a national and international viewership, and both were highly receptive. This digital art form, a contemporary alternative of pixel art and pointillism, has the ability to surprise and seduce through the originality and aesthetics of the concept. It is a testament to its age. It stems from a wide range of different sources but primarily from the liberation of a futuristic spirit, that of this Belgian artist born in 1959. A veritable homage to sensuality, a symphony of colors which unleashes the imagination and tantalises the senses.
